The Minister of Science and Technology has recently announced the List of key digital technology products and services applicable to agencies, organizations, enterprises and individuals engaged in the production and supply of, or carrying out activities related to, the products and services of this kind in Vietnam.

Effective from January 1 next year, Circular 31/2025/TT-BKHCN enumerates 10 groups of key digital technology products and services. These reflect global technological trends and align with the “Make in Vietnam” strategy in the context of the Industry 4.0 and the country’s comprehensive digital transformation.

The first group covers artificial intelligence, digital twin technology, and virtual reality and augmented reality (VR/AR). It includes Vietnamese large language models, virtual assistants, specialized AI systems, big data analytics platforms, digital replicas, metaverse, edge AI devices, AI cameras, and data management software.

For the second group with cloud computing, quantum computing and big data, the circular highlights cloud infrastructure equipment, software and services, large-scale data centers, quantum computing services and quantum communication.

Blockchain technology is listed as the third group, including blockchain platforms, application software, traceability systems, and blockchain network infrastructure.

Another key group comprises next-generation (5G and 6G) mobile networks, such as radio access network solutions and core network solutions, high-speed IP transmission systems, 5G/6G smartphones, as well as optical fibers and cables and optical transmission devices.

Robotics and automation form the fifth group, covering autonomous mobile robots, industrial robots, and platforms and software serving robot development, control and operation.

The two more groups embrace semiconductor chips, including specialized chips, AI chips, and Internet of Things (IoT) chips; and aviation and space technology, listing remote sensing satellites, ground stations, unmanned aerial vehicles, and digital platforms for the operation of these systems.

The last three groups include cybersecurity, national digital platforms and shared platforms, and IoT.

According to the circular, agencies, organizations, enterprises and individuals participating in identifying key digital technology products and services must ensure the accuracy and truthfulness of all information they provide. This requirement aims to promote transparency, accuracy and fairness in determining key digital technologies and serves as a basis for considering investment priorities, policy incentives and domestic production development.- (VLLF)
