National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man received representatives of the Vietnamese Business Association in Russia in Moscow on September 9 afternoon (local time), within the framework of his official visit to Russia.

Reporting to the top legislator, representatives of businesses shared their advantages and challenges they have faced in the process of investing and doing business in Russia.

Man emphasized that Vietnam and Russia have a very good traditional friendship, as they are not only special traditional friends but also comprehensive strategic partners.

Vietnamese businesses have invested approximately USD 3 billion in Russia, while Russian investors have poured USD 1 billion into the Southeast Asian nation, he said, noting that these figures should increase to match the relationship between the two countries.

He asked the business community to continue to work together, adhere to the law of the host country, contribute to the development of the two countries, and further deepen their comprehensive strategic partnership.

The NA Chairman also requested the Vietnamese Embassy to continue promoting relations between local authorities, ministries, and sectors of both countries, and promptly find solutions to address legal issues to ensure that children of the Vietnamese community can attend school in Russia.

He urged Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha to listen to businesses’ proposals and continue to advocate with the Russian side during the 25th meeting of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee on Economic-Trade and Scientific-Technological Cooperation, scheduled for September 11-12.- (VNA/VLLF)
