Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called for the acceleration of the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide.

In Telegram 102/CD-TTg dated October 6, the Premier highlighted enthusiastic response of ministries, agencies, Secretaries of the provincial and municipal Party Committees and Chairmen of provincial-level People’s Committees to the emulation movement on joining hands to eradicate temporary and dilapidated houses by 2025.

The cabinet leader instructed cities and provinces’ enhancement of their self-reliance as well as rational mechanisms enabling localities to provide support for those with difficulties in wiping out houses in poor conditions.

He also underscored to need to mobilize ministries, agencies, businesses, banks, organizations and individuals both domestically and internationally to assist the work.

The PM called for concerted efforts and drastic actions of sectors and localities to complete the set goal by December 31 next year, with housing support for people who rendered service to the nation, housing assistance under the national target programs and one under the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for local residents.

The Ministry of Construction was tasked to urge provincial-level People’s Committees to study and design several housing models while the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs was ordered to join hands with competent ministries and agencies to make reports and propose the establishment of a central steering committee on the elimination work to the Prime Minister before October 10.- (VLLF)
