Prime Minister makes passage to India
Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh agreed to officially establish a strategic partnership between the two countries, during Mr. Dung’s visit to India on July 4-6.

They noted that the strategic partnership marked a new breakthrough in bilateral relations and paved the way for expanding bilateral multifaceted cooperation.

The Joint Statement signed on this occasion would serve the sustainable development and prosperity of the two countries, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, development and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region and the world, Mr. Dung said.

During the visit, the two sides signed seven important cooperation documents in the domains of fisheries and aquaculture, energy, agriculture, culture, and education and training.

These documents constitute important legal grounds for working out directions and measures to boost cooperative relations between the two countries in the future, the Prime Minister said.
