Cabinet forecasts economic growth
Growth of gross domestic product would see a spurt during the second half of the year, Planning and Investment Minister Vo Hong Phuc said at the Government’s monthly meeting in Hanoi on July 2, forecasting a GDP growth of 6.6-7 per cent in the third quarter and 7.2-7.5 per cent in the fourth quarter.

The estimate prompted the meeting to agree that Vietnam’s GDP would grow 6.5-6.8 per cent this year.

The meeting, which reviewed the materialization of socio-economic targets for the first half of the year, agreed that Vietnam’s economy had been rapidly restored during the last six months with growth in all economic sectors higher than expected.
