The nation will strive for building an independent and self-reliant economy, improving the efficiency of the international economic integration while quickly overcoming adverse impacts of the COVID-19 epidemic.
Such is an important orientation set forth in Government Resolution 93/NQ-CP dated July 5, which aims at enhancing the efficiency of international economic integration and promoting the rapid and sustainable economic development of the nation for the 2021-2030 period.
The Resolution puts forward specific targets of taking advantages of economic integration benefits for boosting import and export, raising the capacity for absorbing scientific and technological advances and efficiency of capital use of the economy, thereby heightening Vietnam’s position in the global value chain and improving the quality of institutions and laws in a more complete, modern and integrated manner.
Under the Resolution, it is also expected to focus on the international economic integration, positively contributing to the renewal of the growth model toward sustainability and economic restructuring, and on the acceleration of the industrialization and modernization, thereby helping narrow the development gap with the advanced countries in the region and the world.
The Government asks for developing the economy’s resilience to external adverse impacts which may affect the country’s import and export activities and international integration process of economic sectors.
Notably, the trade remedy system must be consolidated for better protecting the domestic economy and market as well as enterprises in conformity with international commitments to improving the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises and products.- (VLLF)
