By 2030, there would be at least 1.5 million private enterprises operating in Vietnam.
It is a target set in a draft plan on sustainable development of private enterprises by 2030 prepared by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The Vietnam’s private sector would have to narrow the gap in technology level, quality of human resources and competitiveness with top countries in ASEAN-4. Particularly, creative and innovative activities at private enterprises would be promoted, while linkage among them would be enhanced so as to increase the number of Vietnamese enterprises participating in regional and global production networks and value chains equal to those of ASEAN-4 countries.
By 2030, the number of employees in the private sectors would increase by 6-8 percent, while their income would raise by 15-20 percent.
In addition, private enterprises would be encouraged to apply sustainable business models and cleaner production technologies, efficiently use natural resources, and protect the environment.
To this end, the Ministry of Planning and Investment suggests other ministries, sectors and localities to incorporate solutions for sustainable development of private enterprises in national target programs as well as their projects and target programs so as to ensure efficient use of resources.- (VLLF)
