The 79th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam was a good chance to review the Party’s glorious history and tradition of revolutionary struggle and commemorate President Ho Chi Minh, Pham Quang Nghi, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee, said on February 2 at a meeting to celebrate the Party’s anniversary (February 3, 1930 -February 3, 2009).
The celebration aimed to express gratitude to former revolutionaries, communists, heroes, martyrs, invalids and people who made sacrifices to help build and protect the Motherland, he said.
On this occasion, Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh and other Party leaders received guests from central agencies, political and social organizations, who praised the Party leadership for the new development stage of the country.
The victories of Vietnam’s revolution were achievements of the whole political system and people from all strata under the Party leadership, the General Secretary said.
Provinces and cities nationwide also organized activities to celebrate the Party’s founding anniversary.-
