Plan to enhance hospitality communications approved
With a view to renewing the methods and contents of, and stepping up the application of advanced technologies in, tourism information and communications, the Prime Minister on January 9 issued Decision 44/QD-TTg, approving the plan on enhancement of tourism communications.

With a view to renewing the methods and contents of, and stepping up the application of advanced technologies in, tourism information and communications, the Prime Minister on January 9 issued Decision 44/QD-TTg, approving the plan on enhancement of tourism communications.

The plan sets forth the goals of intensifying information and communications about the position and driving-force role of the hospitality sector in boosting the development of other fields, as well as mechanisms and policies for tourism development and typical tourist products in a plentiful and diversified manner among people, enterprises and tourists at tourist destination.

Under the new regulation, contents to be disseminated include information about the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws, contents and results of implementation of the State’s strategies, plans, programs and projects on tourism development, and civilized behavioral rules in tourism; information about highly competitive and national-brand tourist products; and information about typical successful models and examples in developing tourism which help effectively address social security issues, create jobs, and restructure and create a driving force for other industries to develop, thereby obtaining multi-faceted efficiency in terms of economy, culture, society, politics, foreign affairs, security and national defense.

Above information will be disseminated in the mass media, through social activities and events, via the Internet and other types of media and activities, including providing tourist information on the portal of the Ministry of Information and Communications for reference by local journalists, publishing publications on tourism for distribution at international tourism fairs, and organizing tourism-related advertising contests.- (VLLF)
