Vietnam and China have pledged to implement documents concluded for building a common borderline based on peace, friendship and stability.
The pledge was made following a three-day meeting that ended on November 19 in Beijing between the two foreign ministries.
For the first time in history, each section of the Vietnam-China boundary and each border marker were placed clearly, not only in writing but also on the map, enabling citizens to easily see the borderline, said Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Ho Xuan Son.
The three signed documents during the meeting, together with the 1999 Vietnam-China Land Border Agreement, constituted the most perfect set of dossiers, he said.
The agreements include the Protocol on Border Demarcation and Market Placement; the Agreement on Border Management Regulations; and the Agreement on Border Gates and Border Gate Management between the two countries.
According to experts, follow-up procedures would be soon finalized to help the agreements take effect.-
