Vietnam and China on February 23 held a state-level ceremony to mark the completion of their land border demarcation and marker placement project.
The ceremony was held at Huu Nghi (Friendship) international border gate in Vietnam’s northern Lang son province and Youyiguan border gate in the Zhuang Autonomous Region of China’s Guangxi province.
Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem described the completion of the project and the execution of the two countries’ Land Border Treaty as conducive to peace and stability of the border region, creating conditions for the development of each country, particularly their bordering areas.
The event provided vivid evidence of bilateral comprehensive and strategic partnership, sending an important message to the world about the development of cooperative relations between the two neighboring countries, Mr. Khiem said.
Mr. Khiem and Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo pledged to further cooperation so as to sign this year a protocol on border demarcation, a treaty on border management and other relevant documents to enforce the Land Border Treaty.-
