Full market economy recognized
Australia and New Zealand have officially recognized Vietnam as a full market economy and agreed to treat Vietnamese imports in accordance with WTO regulations on anti-dumping and subsidies. So, the number of such countries now totals 18.

Australia and New Zealand have officially recognized Vietnam as a full market economy and agreed to treat Vietnamese imports in accordance with WTO regulations on anti-dumping and subsidies. So, the number of such countries now totals 18.

The documents were signed in Thailand and handed over to Vietnamese Industry and Trade Minister Vu Huy Hoang on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations’ (ASEAN) 14th summit.

Other ASEAN dialogue partners are also encouraged to recognize Vietnam as a full market economy.

The recognition has marked a huge leap in multifaceted relationship between Vietnam and these two ASEAN dialogue partners, contributing to maintaining economic growth in the Asia-Pacific region, Mr. Hoang said.
