The Vietnamese Government and international donors are much concerned about the use of Official Development Assistance (ODA) funds in Vietnam, following the scandal at Project Management Unit 18 (PMU18) in which former vice minister of transport Nguyen Viet Tien and general director of PMU 18 Bui Tien Dung were arrested due to their involvement in corruption in the building of ODA-funded roads and bridges. The donor community has asked the Government to take measures to put an end to the situation, and it has already issued some instructions and applied some measures to deal with the issue.
