Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue has assigned the Ministrys of Industry and Trade and Ministry of Science and Technology to coordinate with the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) in formulating and announcing national standards on steel making slag.
The Ministry of Finance (MoF) shall work with relevant agencies on adjusting the export duty on steel making slag for submission to the Government.

It will coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the VSA and relevant agencies in evaluating the increase in import tariffs on several HS codes suspected of avoiding safeguard taxes levied on imported rolled steel and report to the Government while revising Government Decree No. 122 dated September 1, 2016.
Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued a decision to exemption of safeguard tariffs on imported steel wires with HS code of 7227.90.00 for a number of companies to manufacture welding materials. Therefore, the beneficiaries will get safeguard tax refund for their shipments imported this year.- (VLLF)
