Vietnamese lawyers should participate more in judicial and administrative reforms as well as economic growth and international integration, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung told representatives of the Vietnam Lawyers Association on December 8 at the a meeting on the role of lawyers in the country’s development.
Public and business demand for legal protection and consultancy had increased during the country’s fast integration into the world community, he said, adding that the shortage of legal experts in state agencies had led to delayed issuance of legal documents.
In international lawsuits, the country had to hire foreign lawyers who possessed necessary legal knowledge, he said.
